Make It A Great One: A Review on the Jesus Revolution Movie

What stood out to me the most in the movie Jesus Revolution was when Frisbee was sitting by the fire and crying out to God to not stop using him.

I joined the church as a youth. Soon after, I started to get to know God through talking to Him through prayer and learning about His story and how we are part of it. Bible knowledge, taking and studying notes from Sunday sermons, as well as, becoming an active member in the group became essentials in my life.

As this continued, I would get leadings to do or not to do certain things. I would hear within who I am. I began to know the voice of my soul and also the voice of God leading me within me. This was powerful. It felt like I was an electrical appliance that was finally plugged in. Like I was finally alive to the life that was always meant for me.

However, like Frisbee's experience portrayed in the movie, there were times where I felt that I had to beg like he did or I would lose it. These were the moments where I had become unplugged from the Source. I was looking to myself alone and my own ability to keep all this going.

I now know that who God is and who He made me to be are not dependent on my strivings and my begging. He created me with a design and made me to be connected or plugged into Him. As I am talking with Him and continuing to learn from Him, life becomes activated.

We become activated in the leadings in our lives so that: when He gives us an idea and we go with it to see what we can create with the gifts and talents He has put within us, when we focus on what is in front of us and do it with the highest quality that He has given us so far, when we enjoy it, and when we love and give compassion to the people in front of us, giving our highest quality of attention and care.

I don't think we have to beg God to keep using us for great things. He made us for great. We just need to let our eyes be opened to see it in the moment that is before us right now. Give us this day our daily bread. We have been given all we need today to make it a great one.
